“The Hispaniolan Solenodon is one of the last two surviving species of native insectivorous mammals found in the Caribbean and also one of the few venomous placental mammals in the world.
A venomous saliva is delivered using grooves in its lower incisors which can be fatal to mice within 2 - 6 minutes of injection.”
